News from the ERSA Section workshops across Europe 

Report on the Annual Meeting of the Hungarian Regional Science Association

On November 27-28, 2014, the 12th annual conference of the HRSA was held in Veszprém, Hungary. 157 participants attended the conference, among others 15 experts from abroad and 41 PhD students. Prof. Roberta Capello was the invited international keynote speaker of the conference. On the first day two plenary sessions were organized: the first in English, the second in Hungarian. The second day of the conference was focusing on the different aspects of local development. 12 parallel sessions (one in English) hosted more than 100 presentations with the participation of several invited speakers. The 'Pro Regional Science Award' and the traditional 'Young Regional Scientist' prize were delivered. Presentations and photo albums are available in the website of the association. The HRSA is going to hold its next annual meeting at the end of November, 2015 with the focus on the regional processes of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Moroccan Regional Science Association (ERSA section), in partnership with the university of Amsterdam, RSAI and the National Institute of Urban Planning in Morocco has organized an international workshop on 'intelligent transition management of complex urban and territorial systems' on 21-22nd November 2014, in Rabat. The workshop was organized as part of the activities of the commemoration of the centenary of urban planning in Morocco.  The program of the workshop covers four themes: land tenure and urban planing, financing of urban development, training and urban jobs, and smart territories development.

• They had organised 42 sessions of paper presentations with 8 timetables, with 5-6 parallel sessions each of them.
• 153 papers presented.

 The program included seven special sessions, with 2 plenary sessions. Furthermore, we offered a workshop on Spatial Econometrics with Stata on Wednesday afternoon as well as a course about spatial panels in R, on Friday afternoon.
