The LOC of the 57th ERSA congress in Groningen wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a fabulous congress year.

The theme of the congress "Social Progress for Resilient Regions" is relevant more than ever and this is clearly reflected in the just approved Special Session topics.  We thank the convenors for the enthusiastic response and this gives us one more reason to believe in a very promising congress.

We encourage you all to have a look at the congress themes in the upcoming holiday period and that you will respond with a submission on the call for papers which is open from now

The deadline is February 10th 2017

The congress theme is Social Progress for Resilient Regions, but the congress covers all fields in Regional Science. The LOC is introducing a Policy Day on Thursday 31st August 2017 and invites policymakers to participate on a one-day ERSA Policy Day ticket. More Information

 

Plenary Policy Session

Marc Lemaître, Director-General of the department for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), European Commission, and Joaquim Oliveira Martins, Head of Division Regional Development Policy Division, Public Governance and Territorial Development Directorate, OECD will speak at the Plenary Session on Thursday 31st August 2017. They are both prominent policymakers with high level strategic impact on regional policy and we look forward to a promising debate with the academic and policy forum. Also the European Investment Bank will participate in the discussion.

ERSA Congress is also a unique platform to support and enhance research of young scientists in the field of regional science.

We are happy to announce that participants will be able to use public transport free of charge in the City Centre of Groningen during the Congress week.

Want to attend the Congress, but need someone to take care of your young child during the day? 

The LOC of ERSA2017 offers the free use of exclusive daycare for children of Congress participants. This service is delivered by the professional childcare organization SKSG. More information
