[workshop] CfP: Workshop on Migration, Globalization and the Knowledge Economy – 5th edition! and KID Summer School 10th Ed.
Dear friends
Sorry for multiple posting!
This email is to announce that the “Workshop Series on Migration, Globalization and the Knowledge Economy” arrives to its 5th edition, and its accepting submission until April 1, 2022.
After moving on-line the Spring 2020 and Spring 2022 editions, and cancelling the Fall 2020 one, the 5th edition of the workshop series will be held in L’Aquila (Italy), on May 17-18/2022, in person! This is part of our series of 5 workshops we launched in 2018 on the topic of migration and its relationship with knowledge creation, diffusion, entrepreneurship, international business, innovation, and more. The 5 workshops are commonly organized by CEPII, EPFL, PSE, Utrecht, ICRIOS-Bocconi, GSSI, IPP-CSIC, and GREThA-Université de Bordeaux.
This fifth edition of the workshop is hosted by the Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI), Social Sciences area, and the call for papers is now open (until April 1, 2022) and available here and in attached pdf.
The workshop will consist of a 2-day plenary session with presentations and discussions, and two keynote speakers. The keynote speakers of the L’Aquila workshop will be Cristina Cattaneo, from the European Institute on Economics and the Environment, and Exequiel (Zeke) Hernandez, from Wharton – U. Pennsylvania.
COVID19 update: the workshop is planned to take place in person, in compliance with health regulations and policies. Based on the evolving circumstances, the organizers will communicate any variation of the format to the participants in due course.
We aim to attract both senior and junior scholars dealing with research topics such as the role of high-skilled migration in fostering innovation in receiving countries, the relationship between diversity and innovation, the role of skilled diasporas and return migrants in diffusing knowledge back to their home countries, the emerging role of MNC in shaping scientists’ and engineers’ migration flows as well as temporary migration and knowledge sharing, migration and innovation-based start-ups formation, regions and mobility, and so forth.
To submit, please send your paper/extended abstract to: migration_innovation2022@gssi.it, and kindly write “Migration & innovation workshop Spring 2022” in the e-mail subject
