Estimados colegas, 

 

Los próximos 9 y 10 de Junio el GAME-IDEGA de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela organizara, con la colaboración de nuestro grupo de investigación (REGIOlab), el VI Workshop in honor of Geoffrey J.D. Hewings en Santiago. Anualmente realizamos, en Oviedo o Santiago, este Workshop destinado prioritariamente a jóvenes investigadores en el campo del Análisis Económico Espacial, la Economía Regional o Urbana o el Análisis Input-Output aunque abierto a otros campos de la Economía Aplicada. Os adjuntamos el call for papers.

Santiago  de Compostela, June 9 and 10, 2015

 

The 9th and 10th of June, the research group GAME (Group of Analysis and Modeling in Economics) and IDEGA (Instituto Universitario de Estudos e Desenvolvemento de Galicia) will organize the next Workshop in honor of Geoffrey Hewings.

 

This is a scientific meeting in which doctoral students and recent PhDs in Economics have the opportunity to discuss their current research with Prof. G. Hewings, director of the

 

Regional Economics Applications Laboratory (REAL) of the University of Illinois.

 

This will be the sixth edition of this event. The 3rd edition was also held in Santiago de Compostela, while the four remaining took place in Oviedo organized by the research group REGIOlab from the University of Oviedo.

This workshop is open to any doctoral student that wants to share their current research in the field of Economics. In previous editions researchers came from different Spanish universities such as: the University of Extremadura, the University of Zaragoza, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as well as from the University of Oviedo and the University of Santiago de Compostela.

 

 

Geoffrey J.D. Hewings is Professor of Geography and Regional Science, of Economics, of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois. He has served as President and Executive Director of the Regional Science Association International and also as President of the council of the International Input-Output Association.
