Estimados compañeros,

 

El Grupo de Urbanismo y Ordenación del Territorio de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha está organizando el próximo encuentro del NECTAR Cluster 4 en TRAVEL, MIGRATION, HOUSING AND LABOUR MARKET que tendrá lugar los días 6 y 7 de octubre de 2016 en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Toledo, del cual os enviamos adjunto el Call for Papers. En esta organización están colaborando activamente profesores del Grupo de Investigación de Sociedad, Medio Ambiente y Territorio del Departamento de Sociología II (Ecología Humana y Población) de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

 

Para aquellos que no la conozcáis, NECTAR (Network on European Communications and Transport Activity Research – http://www.nectar-eu.eu/) es una asociación europea cuyo objetivo es promover la colaboración científica y el intercambio de información entre expertos en los campos de transporte, comunicación y movilidad.

 

En esta ocasión, el Congreso (“Travel, migration, housing and labour market in a context of crisis. Lessons for the future”) está orientado a los efectos que la crisis de los últimos años está teniendo sobre estos cuatro temas para poder establecer lecciones de cara al futuro.

 

Por el interés de temática, creemos en el potencial de las contribuciones para elaborar un número monográfico en alguna revista científica con un alto factor de impacto. Hemos contactado con la revista Regional Studies que ha mostrado su interés, y estamos siguiendo su procedimiento formal habitual de propuesta de Special Issues.

 

Como podéis ver en el Call for Papers adjunto, tiene cabida un amplio abanico de temas. Os animamos a participar y enviar un Abstract extendido sobre vuestro trabajo antes del 15 de febrero de 2016.

Dear colleagues,

First of all, we would like to thank the interest received in the 2016 NECTAR Cluster 4 meeting on “Travel, migration, housing and labour market in a context of crisis. Lessons for the future” that will be held in Toledo (Spain) during 6th and 7th Octorber, 2016 (see the attached Call for Papers).

The deadline for (extended) abstracts submission is 15th February, 2016. Topics of interests are (but not limited to):

– Exploring intra-regional/inter-national mobility and forecasting future patterns. The influence of territorial, cultural and individual features

– Contemporary mobility in the ICTs era: business travel, virtual contacts, long-distance commuting, etc.

– Different frontier effects – Social mobility, urban segregation and inequalities

– Social and economic consequences of commuting/migrating for the individual and his/her household and community

– Urban and regional consequences of increasing temporary and part-time jobs

– Changing labour markets and the city

– Forecasting trends for territorial specialization or diversification

– New data and methodologies for migration/mobility research

 

Extended abstracts (of maximum of 2000 words) should pay attention to the following items:

– What are the core ideas, theories and/or concepts of the paper?

– What position does the paper take with respect to the Meeting general topic?

– What are the main theoretical and methodological contributions of the paper to the existing literature?

Due to the relevance of the topic, our aim is to contribute with a Special Issue in a high-quality journal gathering the papers presented at the Conference. We have already contacted the Editorial Board of ‘Regional Studies’ journal regarding the possibility of the special issue with them (in case of acceptance, selected papers would be subject to the usual peer-review process).

 

We hope to see you in Toledo! And please, do not hesitate to distribute this Call for Papers among your colleagues that may be interested on the Meeting topic.
