The lecture will be delivered by

Professor Nicholas Charron, University of Gothenburg, and will be followed by a discussion by Dr. Annie Tubadji, Swansea University

This webinar presents the ideas for measuring sub-national governance in EU countries and highlights the newest round of the European Quality of Government Index (EQI) and comparisons with previous rounds. The presentation will also discuss some of the theoretical/empirical literature that have explained patterns of variation in sub-national governance, as well as the demonstrated consequences for socio-economic well-being. Finally, the presenter will discuss patterns of governance and early regional performance with respect to Covid-19.
