Spatial Economic Analysis Plenary Lecture
29th August 2018 – 9.00-11.00
The Local Organising Committee is delighted to confirm that
Professor Serge Rey (University of California Riverside) will be the Spatial Economic Analysis Plenary Keynote speaker at ERSA 2018 in Cork. The lecture will take place on the first morning of the conference, Wedensday August 29 at 9am.
A virtual special issue of Spatial Economic Analysis, the journal of the RSAI British and Irish Section, will be published online to coincide with the lecture.
Serge Rey is an RSAI Fellow. He is Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Center for Geospatial Sciences at UC Riverside. |
Papers in Regional Science Keynote Lecture

Professor Ron Martin of the Cambridge University will present the Papers in Regional Science Keynote Lecture on Wednesday August 29 at 11am. Ron Martin is Professor of Economic Geography and a Research Associate of the Centre for Business Research attached to the Judge Business School. He is also one of the Team in the Centre for Geographical Economic Research. He holds a Professorial Fellowship at St Catharine’s College.
The theme of this keynote lecture is «The Resilience of Cities to Economic Shocks: Four Recessions and Brexit«. |

Young Scientists Roundtable
31st August 2018 – 11.00-13.00
Early career regional scientists will have an opportunity to discuss the future of the discipline at the Young Regional Scientists Roundtable. This will comprise of several colleagues in the early years of their careers discussing the major challenges for regional analysis from their perspectives. The roundtable will be chaired by Professor Dimitris Ballas of the University of Groningen and delegates can hear how younger academics perceive future developments in regional science. |
