Dear Members of ERSA, dear Colleagues,
With a few days’ delay, let me wish you a happy New year 2021.
2020 was a year like no other where we all had to adapt, mobilize our forces to continue the production and sharing of valuable knowledge, especially on the understanding of the impacts of the pandemic.
In 2021, and in close consultation with our sections, through our activities and the great researches made by our regional scientists, we will continue to advocate for the role of regional science research in providing valuable inputs to policy decision making and for civil society.
Regarding ERSA events, our agenda remains virtual in the short term. In January, we have started with a remarkable webinar with the OECD on ‘Covid-19 and regional disparities’ followed by our ERSA-JRC Winter School.
In this newsletter you will see that opportunities to learn and meet virtually are still numerous for this year, keeping the hope that physical meetings will be possible as soon as possible.
With best wishes,
André Torre
