Dear Colleagues,

The II Seminar for New Academic Researchers (SNAR) was held at the University of Extremadura in Plasencia (Spain), on 5th October, 2018.

The meeting was mainly intended to guide and offer advice to young researchers (PhD students or graduates) in developing their research lines and consolidating their long-term careers.

This Seminar gave New Academic Researchers the opportunity to present their first studies in diverse areas of regional science (economics, urban planning, econometrics, geography, tourism, etc.) to Professor Geoffrey J.D. Hewings (REAL – University of Illinois) and other senior researchers, such as Dr. Esteban Fernández, Dr. Miguel Ángel Márquez and Dr. Fernando Rubiera. Their valuable comments, suggestions and advices helped participants to enhance their contributions.
