The Department of Economics at the University of Victoria invites applications at the assistant professor
level, starting July 1st, 2013. The Department has priority interest in the area of International Economics,
or other fields that contribute to the internationalization and global reach of the University’s research and
teaching missions. Candidates are encouraged to describe how their research will further the research
strengths of the University (see www.uvic.ca/research).

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in hand or be close to completion. The successful applicant will have
demonstrated excellence in research and must have the potential to make a significant contribution to the
Department’s research capacity. The Department has active MA and Ph.D. programs and candidates are
expected to be able to provide graduate level instruction in a core area, as well as supervision and
teaching in their area of specialization. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in
teaching at the undergraduate level. Information about the Department is available at web.uvic.ca/econ.
