ERSA Congress 2015: Call for Special Session proposals

 

With the umbrella theme "World Renaissance: Changing rules for people and places", next year's Congress programme is now taking shape under the leadership of the Lisbon Local Organising Committee

 

The Local Organising Committtee would like to give you the opportunity to make a proposal for a Special Session Topic. 

 

Should you be interested in organizing a special session, please provide the Local Organising Committee with the following details:

–  Title for the Special session;

–  Brief description of the substantive focus – maximum 300 words

–  Name(s) of the Session organiser(s)

–  List of authors committed to submit paper (including a tentative title) – minimum 3.

–  Please advise if your topic is open for the Call for abstracts/papers or if it is strictly limited to your invited authors.

 

This is a competitive call. Proposals will be evaluated based on the importance and relevance of the central topic, as well as the qualification of the organizers and quality of papers in the proposed session.

2015 RSAI Summer Course in Armenia

 

 

 

The Regional Science Association International (www.regionalscience.org/) will organize a Summer Course, on the theme Interdisciplinary Analysis and Policies for Regional Sustainability, that will be held from the 1st till the 5th of June 2015 at the “Tezh Ler” Resort, Dilijan, Armenia.

 

The goal of the Summer Course is to provide PhD-students and young researchers with

  • Advanced training in policy analysis of complex territorial systems. A special look into energy, environment and urban systems.
  • An opportunity to present and discuss their research,
  • A chance to obtain improved skills, knowledge and scientific social capital to advance their careers as researchers.

 

The summer course will take place during five highly focused and intense days of advanced training, student presentations and debates, and discussion of career strategies. It will also include a study visit (excursion) to Sevan lake, Echmiatsin, Sardarapat, Noravanq, Khor Virap, Eghegis that will complete the unique experience of the summer course.

 

The summer course will focus on various themes:

  • Regional growth and disparities
  • Fiscal decentralization, efficiency and growth
  • Government quality and spatial inequality
  • Clusters, proximity, and regional innovation policies
  • Regional development and territorial governance
  • Regional development in rural and peripheral areas
  • Spatial econometrics and CGE Modelling
  • Investment and Impact Assessment
  • Transportation analysis and policy
  • Innovations and Entrepreneurship
  • Innovation and Regional Growth in the EU
  • World Financial Crisis Aftermaths
  • Spatial models in agricultural sector
  • Sustainable development and globalization
  • Integrating spatial models into regional energy system optimization

 

Deadline for the application is 2nd of March 2015.
