Dear Colleagues,

Dear All,

I am happy to invite you to attend our International Workshop on Big data jointly organized by ERSA, DG REGIO and CORE.  The central theme is  "How can Regional Policy Benefit from Big Data?".

The workshop will gather a unique platform of scholars with an expertise in the field: Paul Longley, Isabelle Thomas, Lewis Dijkstra, Catherine Linard, Filipe Batista e Silva, Hugo Poelman, Nicolas Ibañez and Panayotis Christidis.

The aim of this one-day workshop is how various types of Big Data can be used in a creative way to tackle key issues in today's regional policy like smart specialisation, the creation of small businesses,  social inclusion of vulnerable population, the impact of migrants and refugees, ….  Especially knowing that we lack of timely available and detail  data on spatial scale for these issues.

Target audience: Researchers and PhD students with an interest in Big data, Cities and Region Representatives, EU officials.

Venue : CORE-UCL Voie du Roman Pays, 34  1348 Louvain-la-Neuve
