Dear Colleagues:

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Cuenca is pleased to host the III Seminar for New Academic Researchers (SNAR) 2019.

Following the aims and scope of the successful previous editions in Oviedo and Plasencia, the SNAR seeks to gather a group of researchers, academics, and students (PhD candidates or graduates) to share previous, current, and potential future works among all participants rather than presenting a specific research paper, with the main purpose of guiding new researchers in developing their long-term careers.

We encourage contributions on topics related (but not limited) to the diverse fields involved in Regional Science and/or Input-Output analysis: economics, econometrics, urban planning, geography, tourism, inequality, health and welfare, impact evaluation, structural analysis…

The participants will benefit from the knowledge and experience of Professor Geoffrey J.D. Hewings (REAL – University of Illinois) and other senior researchers attending this event. All valuable comments and suggestions shared during the meeting will also contribute to building a network of researchers interested in regional economic development and Input- Output analysis. This meeting is not just intended to be a traditional set of academic presentations, but also a workshop where the participants can learn some helpful tips.

Senior members will contribute with some presentations on how to prepare a manuscript, how to review a paper, how to answer the referees’ comments or funding possibilities for Early Careers in the EU (for grants, individual projects or research stays).

Please, confirm your willingness to participate in this Seminar by sending your abstract to Fernando.Bermejo@uclm.es, including your name(s), affiliation(s), main topic and 3-5 keywords. The Seminar will be held on October 18, 2019 at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Faculty of Social Science (Campus Cuenca).

Come to check it out and spread the word! There is no registration fee to participate!

Looking forward to meeting you all in Cuenca.
