2010 has been a very successful year for ERSA. We have celebrated our 50th anniversary congress in Jönköping, Sweden with more than 1,000 registered participants, which imply that we set a world record for meetings of regional scientists. The group of key-note speakers was exceptional, the scientific program had a high quality, and Professor Hans Westlund and his team did an excellent job as local organizers. Dear Colleagues,

 

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I take pleasure to invite you to the 51st European Congress of the Regional Association International, to be held in Barcelona (Spain) from August 30to September 3, 2011. The main theme of the ERSA 2011 conference is New challenges for European Regions and Urban Areas in a Globalised World, and we are expecting a large number of regional scientists and practitioners to attend this exciting meeting where a list of topics on regional and urban issues will be discussed.
