Dear Members of ERSA, dear Colleagues,

A few days ago, we learned with sadness about the passing away of Atilla Varga, the recent ERSA Prize winner. Attila’s scientific contributions to regional science were remarkable in many ways. He was also very active in ERSA-RSAI community, and we will always remember him.

Together with Roberta Capello (president-elect) and Tomaz Dentinho (chair of the LOC) we are now joining efforts in the preparation of ERSA next year’s Congress in the Azores and first results are already running in. The call for special sessions is open and two keynote Lecturers are already confirmed:

David Audrestch, Distinguished Professor at Indiana University, he is ranked as the top scientist globally, according to the World Top 100 Business & Management / Entrepreneurship Scientists 2024 and Michael Fritsch, Professor at Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, he is author of numerous books and more than 200 articles in scholarly journals and edited volumes read more

I wish you a good reading of the many upcoming opportunities presented in this letter.

With best wishes,

André Torre, ERSA President
