Dear RSAI members,
It is with great regret that I announce that on 6th November our founder, Walter Isard, passed away at the age of 91. I am sure all of us will miss his intellectual curiosity, his creativity, his human and professional high standards as well as the man himself.
At the NARSC meeting in Denver we remembered him a lot, and RSAI will organise a future event in his memory. We will let you know when this is organised.
I take the opportunity to let you know that my two year presidency term will end this year, and that from 1st January 2011, Yoshiro Higano, from Japan, will be the new RSAI president. Moreover, we will also change our Executive Director. Graham Clarke, who has been in charge for three terms, will be replaced by Tomaz Dehntino, from Portugal.
I would like to thank Graham for his excellent job during his secretary, and I wish Yoshiro and Tomaz all the best for their future work.
