4th Geography of Innovation Conference

The AQR research group, in partnership with EuroLIO, is organizing the 4th Geography of Innovation Conference, Barcelona, January 31st-February 2nd, 2018.

The 4th Geography of Innovation Conference takes place in the Faculty of Economics and Bussines. Sessions include contributed papers and keynote presentations. More than 300 delegates from Europe, United States and Asia will be participating to the conference, with around 250 papers to be presented.

The aim of the conference is to bring together some of the world’s leading thinkers from a variety of disciplines ranging from economic geography and regional science, economics and management science, sociology and network theory, and political and planning sciences.

Four reputed keynote speakers have accepted the invitation to participate in the conference:

  • Professor Dr. Michael Storper (UCLA and LSE) named by Thompson-Reuters Web of Science as “one of the world’s most influential minds”
  • Professor Dr. Frank Neffke (Harvard University and Harvard Kennedy School), a rising star recipient of the best young scholar paper award in several conferences
  • Professor Dr. Reinhilde Veugelers (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Sciences and advisor at the European Commission (BEPA Bureau of European Policy Analysis, 2004-2008).
  • Professor Dr. Gillian Bristow (Cardiff University), who has recently conducted research on the resilience of European regions to the economic crisis post 2008.
